Artist Bio

Musically described as dark dynamic downtuned dirges on acoustic guitar, Robert Irican Rios is a life long musician currently residing in Portland, Oregon. Born to a Puerto Rican father and a mother of Irish decent he was proclaimed an Irican combining the two races. While having been born on a Navajo reservation in Arizona and living in many other cities and states over the years Robert has spent most of his life as an Oregon resident. Starting with Piano at age 5, Robert quickly moved onto Guitar at age 8 and began writing his own music just as he was turning 10. Robert quickly moved on to start his first band Thirty-Six Drive in Junior High. Other projects continued, most notable were Rebel Fly, Faithless Saints, Ground Score PDX, and Need To No. To further his musical ambition and self sufficiency. Robert also received his Bachelor degree in 2008. With a degree in Applied Science in Sounds Arts at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, California. Robert now plays many more instruments and runs his own small recording studio; Irican Productions. There he not only records his own solo releases but that of his bands and many other musicians in the Pacific Northwest.
